Doris Yeung, Tracy Y. H. Tung and Dr. Dennis S.W. Wong are from the Centre for Restoration of Human Relationships in Hong Kong. Professor Dennis Wong, PhD, is a professor at the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences and the associate dean (Student Life and Learning) at City University of Hong Kong.

In Hong Kong, restorative practice (RP) has been seen as one of the best methods for tackling school bullying among teachers and social workers over the past fifteen years. Restorative justice, on one hand can hold bullies accountable to their wrong doings, and on the other hand, educate bullies to repair for the harm they had done.

This workshop by Professor Dennis Wong, Doris and Tracy aims to highlight the continuous efforts that the Centre of Restoration of Human Relationships (CRHR) devotes in helping schools to deal with bullying cases with the use of the Restorative Whole-school Approach (RWsA). Since the introduction of RP training in Hong Kong, more than 2000 conference facilitators have been trained by the Centre of Restoration of Human Relationships. These RP facilitators are working in different fields, including teaching, social work, legal profession, policing, and commercial sector. The workshop firstly describes key features and characteristics of the RWsA and highlights challenges facing its actual implementation. The workshop will also discuss research impacts related to RWsA.

Sign up for the conference to learn more about Restorative Practice and Restorative Justice in Singapore and other countries.

We look forward to seeing you there.
