Justin Mui is the current Executive Director of LCCS. He will be conducting this workshop together with Mr. Daniel Ang, previous Executive Director of LCCS. Together, they had journeyed with LCCS for the last 11 years. Hear more about their journey at this workshop.

The challenge for any organisation is to attract, develop and retain competent and dedicated staff. At the same time, interpersonal differences and unhealthy staff culture hold the potential to derail the organisation’s plans to achieving its mission. Through the narrative and recount of LCCS’ journey in implementing Restorative Practices, hear first-hand how LCCS has been building a restorative culture centred on relationships, empowerment and ownership over the past decade.

The session will touch on engaging workplace practices that allow every staff a voice in envisioning the organisation’s future and charting strategic direction. This bottom-up approach has been helpful in fostering alignment and synergy in LCCS, enabling the staff to reflect on and better articulate the ‘why’ in the work that they do.

In the course of work, interpersonal conflict, and mistakes are inevitable. As an organisation that advocates for the wider adoption of Restorative Practices, it is critical to “walk the talk”. In the onset of an organisational crisis that threatened the sustainability of LCCS, Restorative Practices helped create platforms that allowed for the leaders and staff to experience vulnerability and camaraderie in tiding through the organisation’s darkest moments.
